Here’s a breakdown of what’s new:

  1. First downs (Misc. scoring category)
  2. Passing first downs (Passing category)
  3. Rushing first downs (Rushing category)
  4. Receiving first downs (Receiving category)
  5. Turnovers (Misc. scoring category)

The points per first down (aka PPFD) scoring rules have been a popular request this year from leagues who want to apply it as an alternative to PPR scoring, as it isolates points for receptions only when there’s a first down achieved.

The new turnovers scoring rule will total interceptions plus fumbles lost.

Commissioners can add these via League Settings > Edit Scoring Rules. Once the rule is saved, you can look at any player’s history in 2016 to see how the rules impact the scoring. This is a great way to make sure they are going to trigger the way you want. To try this out, go into the player listing, search for a specific player you think the rule probably applied to, click/tap their name and then click/tap a final score for any game to see the breakdown of how the rules were applied. Any new rules set up will be applied to previous games.

We recommend making and communicating any scoring rule changes before the season starts on Sept. 7. All scoring changes that commissioners want to apply to Week 1 scoring must be made by midnight on Sept. 11.

Please contact us if you have any questions around implementation of these new rules!
